You are the last of your species of intelligent frogs in the rainforests of South America. You are an Amphibian! With the advance of civilization your family has died off one by one. Your dear sweet mother, being a very smart frog, conceived you and your siblings - the last batch of frogs to continue the species. However, the world is a very bad place for frogs and everything is against you.
Your job is to get all the frogs home to their lily pads by crossing rivers and 4-lane highways. On the river you have to hop from floating object to object and finally to the lily pad and on the road you have to avoid automobiles and semi-trucks. Don't forget the snakes, hornets, oilspills and the submerging animals that want to stop you from living.
On your side, however, are items that appear on your journey that can help you and your siblings live on. Items such as goggles help you swim, the shield protects you from autos, snakes, hornets and oil spills.
Scoring is simple. Get your five frogs to their lily pads as quickly as possible. You get an added bonus by not dieing before filling up all five lily pads.
Good Luck! The action is tough and intense and gets tougher as the rounds go on!

Amphibian is a single player game for Macintoshｪ computers, growing out of the classic arcade game Frogger(ｪ), with with some added twists. It takes advantage of 256 color graphics and full 4 channel sound.
System Requirements:
A Macintosh PowerMac.
System 7.0 system software or later.
Sound Manager 3.0 or better.
A monitor that supports 256 colors and 640 x 480 dots.
At least 4 MB of available RAM.
Game Play:
When first started, Amphibian will automatically create a preferences file in the system folder preferences folder if it is not already there.
Since there are no preferences when you first play the game, YOU WILL HAVE TO SET THE KEYBOARD PREFERENCES using the Settings Menu - Key Preferences.
escape or command -q will quit the current game and return you to the main screen.

This is my first public release. Whether or not you like the game, please appreciate the amount of effort that went into Amphibian. Since I started programming about 9 months ago, I think I have bought every book available and downloaded every example program I can get off AOL, CIS and various Internet sources.
I intend to support Amphibian as long as I can. Eventually, once SpriteWorld 2.0 is released, I'll get around to putting the 68k version out for the rest of the Mac community. I understand your frustration since I've only had a PowerMac for about a year now.
